History
{OCA}
is primarily a Sniper Arena clan although some do know how to
play in an Instagib Arena. {OCA} members came together on a server
called Fraggalonia Sniper Arena. Most members came across each
other in September/October of 2001 and some followed shortly there
after. After playing with the same people almost on a nightly
basis members started to talk to each other (never with the intent
to be a group just friendly talking, joking or giving compliments).
Eventually
some exchanged email addresses. They e-mailed each other with
advice, questions, or just to goof around. One day a non-regular
came in and asked if everyone on the server was INSANE because
people were leaving small craters trying to reach a certain spot
or accidentally team killing.
One of
the members said "Yes" and added INSANE to their name. On that
day Yerf-Dogg became *Just_An_Insane_Bot* eventually becoming
INSANE_Yerf-Dogg; poo_poo became INSANE_poo_poo; *Just_A_Girl*
became INSANE_PRINCESS\>*
For a while,
it stuck. Then a tyrant admin of Fraggalonia (or Laggalonia if
you prefer) caused division...bans took place, people took sides
and the INSANE spirit got lost. It came back again but not as
intense. Eventually some dropped the INSANE and were recruited
by other clans. In the process, friendships were forming. {fah-q}zed
came along and so did Sly_Marbo.
Mostly
because of "parties" we formed in the cave (or "bat
cave") or atop the mountain in a map called DM-Konosus][.
Whether some were on the blue team or the red team, we didn't
kill each other at these "parties". We did flips, stared
at each other, cracked jokes, drew on walls, etc. of course not
affecting game play (teams were so bad our play would not affect
the outcome). Then, someone started using INSANE again and others
followed.
In the
first few days of March 2002, some other non-regular came into
the Fraggalonia server and accused the whole RED team of cheating.
In the batcave, there were about 12 people, mostly RED and just
a couple of BLUE. The non-regular accused RED of cheating for
not killing the BLUE people and calling those BLUE's RED spies.
Those that
had been recruited by other clans were in the process of dropping
them. Someone from the bat cave said "Yes! We are cheating.
We are part of an elite organization called Organized Cheaters
Association. We look for poor defenseless servers to take over
as a team and beat the other team."
Of course
everyone knew it was a joke. Another person from the bat cave
took it a step further. They added {OCA} to their name.. That
is how {OCA} was born. In the days that followed, everyone decided
that everyone works well together and that everyone does follow
each other to other servers and it seems all will stick together.
It was decided to have {OCA} become an official clan.
We of course
by no means cheat unless you call teamwork cheating. We do have
a new meaning for {OCA}, Organized Crazy Addicts. That's what
we are! A well organized group that likes to have fun, we are
crazy, and we are addicted to playing!
