In the morning of 2006-05-31 the Swedish National Criminal Police showed a search warrant to Rix|Port80 personnell. The warrant was valid for all datacentres of Rix|Port80 and was directed at The Pirate Bay. The allegation was breach of copy-right law, alternatively assisting breach of copy-right law.

I always liked TPB they wont take this lying down, they'll be fighting every step of the way, not only that, if they succeed they are entitled to compensation from the government and even if they dont they will get a hell of a lot of publicity - and since this is election year and they started their own political party () its just what they need - in my mind its win / win

I hope they will win, that would be major victory for P2P in EU.
I think something must happen very soon, especially with music/movie copyright law - current situation is completly dumb, 90% of EU residents violates copyright law every day... I think its just question of time when some politicians see this opportunity and start to fight copyright management monopolies....
Do they have some PayPal? I couldnt find anything. I would be willing to help them.
Quote: | The PRQ datacenter has been raided by the Swedish police. All servers and network equipment was seized in an act of blatant abuse of power by public prosecutor Håkan Roswall.
We are currently working to get as much as possible back up. Webhosting is up. Most tunnels will be back up again shortly.
For co-location customers we are working to get temporary servers installed and live. Contact us if you need one.
The best way to reach us currently is either phone +46 (0)73 9691011 or email info @ prq.se
Our team of lawyers are working the legal parts, and we are going to sue the Swedish state to get the equipment returned and get compensation for the multi-million dollar losses sustained by us and our customers.

are swedish policemen really that stupid to sieze servers not releated to TPB? Unbelievable. I remember this happend here in CZ like 5 years ago. Polica raided some company due to copyright law infringement (based on Microsoft agent provocation act) and they siezed all servers including customer serverhosting boxes. Now after five years, highest court said that whole action by police was illegal, no evidence about copyright infringement was found and everything have to be returned. Of course that company immediately sued Czech state for 21 million CZK of losses and state did not even go to court - they just paid.
So I think if this happend in law jungle like our country, in Sweden they must win it and Swedish state will be paying millions. I hope they will.
