Ok, I got a new HD and just copied UT over.
It wont run, getting an error about OpenGL. Does anyone know how I can find the bit to change what graphics its using (try d3d just to see if it will work)
Ive copied UT from drive to drive before so it shoulg be ok. I just dont wonna have to install all the stuff for it again.Cause its a copy, there isnt the option in the start menu to load it in safe mode or to choose graphic options.

Edit
I renamed the opengl.dll in my system and UT loaded so I guess it is that.
When its enabled I get a grey screen when I load UT, I get the splash screen then its grey, ideas?

"UnrealTournament.exe -safe" will run safe mode, renderers are in UnrealTournament.ini:

the one with ; is disabled.

Do you have your video driver properly installed? Also doyou have UTGLR OpenGL?

if you do need to 'start anew' just rename your user.ini and unrealtournament.ini to something else then run UT - it will create them again with the default settings (usually best to do this once in a while anyway)

you can copy your favorites etc from one to the other

LEEBE is right try that first.

If you have to do a fresh install on your Video card drivers this may help.

1) go to your Vcard manufacturer and get the latest drivers.

2) go here and download DC3 driver cleaner. Get familiar with the drop down menus. Install but do not run yet.

3) go to your control panel and use add/remove programs to uninstall any driver sets that may be there.

4) restart your machine. restarting back into safe mode.

5) run DC3. clean each driver line by line. when thats done it never hurts to clean the driver cab as well. This takes a few minutes so dont panic, its not locked up.

6) when DC3 is done restart. let windows do its thing finding the card.

7) when its done run the drivers you got from your manufacturer site.

Cool

restart.

Voila. fresh driver install for your video card.

Windows has generic drivers for all cards. they work genericly. Also other software installs will add thier drivers to make things run better with thier product. This jacks your performance.
I hope this helps. Its hard enough running from good snipers, much less when thier after you and the strobe light is on... Laughing
