My old card 64mb radeon 8500 ran both uts fine.
A new one I have GeForce 5700FX runs ut04 great, but lags in ut99. Ive knocked texture details etc etc down but it hasnt helped. If im in an open area its fine, if I go in a standard room it lags.

Are you using OpenGL? Works great my my FX5600.... I guess you already know this link, but in case u dont...
