Anyone else have trouble cycling through players in demos?
There can be 14 players or more, and sometimes I can only cycle through a few.................more annoying yet is that once I have it locked on a player........they can just vanish and leave the camera veiw staring at whatever!!!!! I cant get it to veiw the player I wanna spec for any decent length of time GRRrrrrrr:evil:
Is it a "Pure" thing? Or ........I dunno.....guess thats why I'm posting LOL.
Hoping someone may have the answer to this prob! (Maybe Leebe?)

MMmm....... I just registered on UTPure forum again (Lost old login details ) And I found this in a thread:-
Quote: | The only thing I noticed is that when I watch a demo in 3rd person, I will be following someone and they will suddenly dissapear. If they go through a opening door, the door will open but I cant see them. Does anyone else have players dissapearing in 3rd person view?
That is a client-side demo, right?
When it was recorded, the network stopped sending data about that player at that point (as it decided that the player (who recorded the demo) did not require it). There is no way to fix this in play back.

nope happens to me a lot. the only way I know of stopping it is to record serverside.
that is, have the server record the demo, which isnt always possible

Damn......how frustrating
I just looked at a couple from earlier, and they are ok...............but lots of my others are bad!
Maybe it is about how good your connection to server is at time..........or how stressed the server is! Dunno!
I thought if anyone would know, it would be you Lee .............oh well not to worry m8

just a guess, but it probably has to do with the max amount of packets the server is sending your connection.
Some admins probably have it set higher so you get to see each player and some have it lower so you can see bits of a few people. I have always had that prob, I just figured it was the nature of a demo.

Thx Zed.........nice to see u still around dude!!
So if you have allways had this prob...................jeeeeeez it must be (and must have been, in ur case) tough as an admin to spec poss cheaters!!
EDIT: Ah! just thought about it...............Admin prolly use the server demo right! I guess this has less issues than client!

ha - nope I never watched the demo to confirm. If I thought they were cheating then I banned them. Some demos were made to show what cheating looked like, but that was always from the players perspective who was playing, so the demo disappearing players never occured.
