If you are an Opera user you will be familiar with this feature. I use Opera and IE and was constantly putting in the shortcuts and getting error messages. Well to remedy that I have created shortcuts for the Internet Explorer Bar.
I use this on Xp, if you have another OS, you need to check your registry first, here is the line I am editing:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl]
Get the registry file here:
http://www.ocainsane.com/files/searchshortcuts.reg
Windows Users can save and open the file, or just open it from the location.
It will create the following shortcuts:
Internet Explorer Search ShortCuts
d = Software, reviews, prices courtesy of download.com
e = Auctions courtesy of ebay.com
g = Search google.com
gi = Search images on google.com
gn = Search news on google.
n = Find items on products courtesy of newegg.com
p = Compare prices at pricewatch.com
r = Look for a domain courtesy of register.com
w = Use dictionary.com
y = Search yahoo.com
How to use it? for example in the browser bar if you type "e unreal tournament" without the quotes, it will take you to ebay with all items related to UT.

Backing up your Registry
Before making any changes, you should ALWAYS make a backup copy of your registry, so you can restore it later on if something goes horribly wrong. To do this, click on the Registry menu in REGEDIT and choose Export Registry File. Make sure the All button is checked near the bottom of the dialog box. Then, just type in a name for your registry file, choose a folder to save it in, and click Save. Make sure you remember where you saved your registry backups, just in case!
