|

Hi all,
I'm back on air for a few days and i'm experiencing some troubles with PM Server. My pings are good (<100ms) but i often get messages about packet loss problem and i usuallly get kicked.
I did the test : cmd, ping pm server, played a game during which I got the message and got kicked, then I went back to command window.
Here are the results :
Statistiques Ping pour 130.89.22.201:
Paquets : envoyés = 388, reçus = 386, perdus = 2 (perte 0%),
Durée approximative des boucles en millisecondes :
Minimum = 28ms, Maximum = 152ms, Moyenne = 59ms
How can i get kick with only 2 packet losses on 400 with a good ping also ?
How can i solve my problem ? (I've already set connection speedt o ISDN although i got cable 512kb...)
Please help !!!
Bye,
Stef.

Hi Roudoudou, I think windows pl is different to UT pl.
Can I ask what is your netspeed? if its too low you can get pl.
you should also measure pl with f6.
It could be anything causing it, it might even be ok now.

Thx Lee.
I'm a little confused about netspeed. My actual connection speed is DL 512kbit/s - UL 128kbit/s. I used to set my connection speed to Cable/DSL in UT. But because the message said to set speed connection one notch down to avoid packet losses, i set it to ISDN...Is this the best thing to do ?
By the way, how is related my real connection speed to netspeed in UT (5000, 10000...) ?
I've just tried F6 and actually have had no packet loss nor warning. The packet loss indicated about 0% IN 5% OUT. Is this ok ?
Thx in advance,
Stef (aka Roudoudou)

Theres a good tutorial on netspeed at http://www.clanvikings.org/tnse/utstuff.html
but thats a bit over the top for what you need.
Set your UT back to cable, and ingame open the console and type
netspeed 10000
that will set your netspeed to 10000 which is more than enough, you wont need/use more than 7000
but if you havent touched your netspeed its more likely it was just something between you and the server causing it.
