Hey guys!! Smile

A few of the SDA members are having problems getting into Pointless. They are recieving the following errors:

"can't find file for package 'UT PURE RC6E'"
and one about UT PURE RC7I.....or 71...Turk could remember the exact wording.

Do you guys have any ideas of what they need to be doing when this happens? Is there anything to delete or to download? Thanks for any help you are able to provide Wink

hey jenn,

try finding any files starting with

BP1Handler
BP4Handler
UTPure
ZPPure

in your system folder and delete those, and have the server resend them to you.

Didnt help me - ut loads them again and i can play (files stay in cache..). But if i leave for smoke and try to come back - problem is there again...

i get same problem .... deleated the files mentioned but still get error

Well I did futz around a bit with renamed and real UTPure versions. Right now you should not get references to any 7I versions anymore.

If you do clean your cache AND your System dir.

well ive done me a clean ut install ... problem i got now is, maps r downloading so slow game is over b4 i get the map... lol so i dunno if its ok or not

well if u've done a clean install or clear everythin' in ya cache
u'll have to re-dl everythin' again.

I have cleared my UT cache and have some UTpures in my system and no problems! Smile

the first was UTPureRC51 and the last was UTPureRC6EX and now UTPure7l!!
The same is I have BP1Handler11 - BP4Handler7l in it and no problems!!
Zeroping = ZPPure51-ZPPure 6E !!

Can it be that you must have all??or nothing of it? - than it is ok??

1/ get http://130.89.22.201/unreal/UTCacheCleaner3.msi
2/ Install it (windows should know what to do, if not rightclick on it, select 'install')
3/ Run it (tell it where UT is)
- With it look for any file starting with "UTPure" or "BPHandler" in Cache
- Delete those files.
4/ Look for any file starting with "UTPure" or "BPHandler" in System dir of UT
5/ Delete those files.

just to add to what punt has said, for anyone who uses it, add OCAfiles01.u to the never move list

Edit-
spidy did his reinstall, but now when he downloads stuff to join its slow as hell, slow in that the map is over before the download is finished. But for me its fine, even if we download at the same time. He did another reinstall to try and fix it, but still no luck, any idea's?

Has the long range shooting been stopped? when i was on snipertown just now you use to be able to have no limit to what you can hit, now it will only go so far...?

what OS is spidy using?

if xp he might want to turn of QOS, also have him try setting his netspeed to 100,000 and d/ling, and see if that improves things, he might also want to ping the server, and you ping the server and see the results, it could be a bad NIC card?

see if his first hop is bad...... you could try downloading a file (not in UT) from Punt's server, ex: http://130.89.22.201/unreal/UTCacheCleaner3.msi and check the d/l speed. If it is fast, then you know for sure it's spidy's UT settings.

All I can think of ATM.

well the strange thing is, any other server it downloads fine, 15sec/meg, thats on fragga, for some reason when he tries to download to join us its slooooooooooooooooooow 0.1% of map every second.

its really strange

try turning his firewall off then join. just to check its not a firewall setting.
