hey what do I have to do to be able to just be able to temperaraly kick a player from the server when a OCA member is not avalable at the time. cause I noticed that players break rules all the time when OCA members are not in the server. all I can do is "please stop teamkilling", "please change that cow skin no cow skins are alowed on this server", "stop spaming", remove that OCA tag... you are not in OCA", thats pretty much how my time goes without OCA admin support. I just feel as if I should be able to do something more.

AND I WANT THAT DARN OCA XAN SKIN lol Klap cussing AR15firing

short answer is theres nothing else you can do.
but its up to you to stick to the rules, not enforce them.

Dont spoil your own fun by telling others what to do.

What I indeed -was- thinking about was that I could perhaps (after my last exam which is friday) make a system that would spot and kick spammers.

I.e. if someone spammed you just had to enter '@spamkill' and the system could fairly easily (I already did a few precursory scripting trials) detect who the spammer is and eject him/her if they came above a certain amount of spams in a row.

The only danger I guess is that this could be abused a little. Some people on the server just spam a little when they join (a 'Hi all' 5x or something) but are perfectly decent during the rest of the game.

If I make the @spamkill command available for -everyone- also means people can then victimize the mostly innocent.

Hi Puntloos,

I guess a couple of ideas come to mind:

1) make the @spamkill temporary - ie, the user gets a "n" minute ban where "n" is progressive: 1, 3, 5 -> refer to admin minutes etc. In that way the kill is temporary but will put off the spammer enough to stop? If others are victimising the spammer s/he knows that when re-connecting the slate is clean and so long as they dont re-spam they cannot be kicked again. If they constantly re-offend they get "referred to admin" and the usual permanent ban process kicks in....

2) make @spamkill sensitive to the number of users requesting the spamkill. Isnt this similar to the mapvote kick? ie a certain percentage of users have to agree with the spamkill vote before the player is kicked. One downside to this is that if you have more spammers on the server than non-spammers they would never get kicked!
