FYI
We are currently experimenting with a new anticheat system that is intended to replace UTPure. Right now it's kinda beta and it will probably exhibit strange behaviour. We're working closely with the programmer so hopefully we will soon be totally playable. Right now things should mostly work already.
What it does is quite simple really. When you log in it compares all packages/mods/bots you have installed to the list of things the server admin has allowed. If you have installed (and actively run) something I haven't allowed you should be kicked with a message.
So for example Leebe had a chatlogger installed and could play normally until the moment he ran chatlogger. then he was kicked. He got a message (I got a similar one in my logs) about the 'identifying line' of the chatlog package. Once he emailed it to me and I added it he could use it normally.
But well as I said, there are a few bugs. Some peopl got kicked for having the offending package 'ZPBasicWeaponsAddon1.10' (or something) which should've been allowed. So its not perfect yet
Concluding:
1/ If you get a message about a strange mutator you run and you feel this is a valid addon to UT, then please mail me or post the UT output (it should be in your UnrealTournament.log) If not DELETE YOUR EVIL BOT YOU MEAN HACKER!
2a/ If you get a message about an illegal default package, please mail me about it, mail me the error message, and if you can, also mail me the default package itself
2b/ If you are on a Mac, please mail me
3/ If you get a message about a mod that our server actually uses itself (like zeroping, eavyspawnprotect or something) please mail me the errormessage and the offending version of ZP.. its either in your cache or system dir.
4/ If you get a message about an offending MAP (like CTF-mattelfighterjets, well this is a known bug. Will be fixed
5/ If you experience any other weirdness that you think is, or might be STFU-related, please mail me
Thank you

STFU 1.05 installed. Lots of new technology. Please give it a shot and mail me any messages or post them here (or on the STFU/ZP2 forum)

Heh sadly most people actually -cant- connect so far. I kinda suspect it has to do with the fact that my linux server compares itself (i.e. 'linux files') to your win32 clients..
For now give it a try but don't expect much
If Grim gets this to work it should be pretty secure but contains a ton of code.

Hmm dont think it matters Roba. Ive tried replacing the original one from the cd and it still doesnt recognise it. Probably like Punt says, cos his is a linux one.
Just a thought Punt, could you put your female2skins.utx up here for download. Ill try that one. It should be ok to cross platform with a utx file right?
btw the first file I tried was modified. And all I did was use the s3fix for them.
Edit: hm I tried deleting the file and got the same message weird.

Hm ok this seems to work.
I got a new female2skins.utx file from
ftp://130.89.22.201/pub/unreal/Textures/
Now its asking for male1skins.utx
Guess Ill go through them all and let you know here
EDIT: ok, some of the file sizes are a hell of a lot bigger
It let me in once i'd swapped all the skin textures with the ones from the ftp.
Then I timed out when I reconnected (a few tries) it said I had tampered with it
roll on 106

OK STFU is now upgraded (actually downgraded a bit, features turned off) and now for the most part people can connect. Please report problems if they arise.
Also the fact that sometimes ppl get kicked off at game start because of timeouts is a 'known bug' - working on that.
If you get 'bad standard package' or the system thinks you might have a Mac/Linux computer, please copy the entire error message if it has a 'Packageinfo' line in there, and if not just recap quickly.
