Hi all
My friend Ultimo said me he downloaded some OCA maps and he says that every file has an extension uz.
So now we have a folder named "Compressed" (it is nearly 500 MB) with all this files .UZ
What we must do to install this maps in our PC???
Is it a particular software for compressed files that we need??
Thanks a lot bye bye

Unreal comes with a tool for decompressing .uz files, it's UCC.EXE in your System subfolder of UT.

After decompress, you have to put
.unr files into /Maps directory
.utx files into /Textures directory
.umx files into /Music directory
.uax files into /Sounds directory
.u files into /System directory

At first I must say SORRY, because I didn’t read the other post (How to “unzip” UZ File posted by Ant (GER) where there was the answer at my question.
Second I must say THANKS A LOT
And now my problems.
I shut down my pc and I started it in MS-DOS mode
I went in UT directory and then in SYSTEM directory, here I found the file called ucc.exe
Under this directory (c:\unreal\system) I wrote ucc.exe (c:\unreal\system\ucc.exe) and I push Enter but PC said me something like: this file can’t work in MS-DOS mode.
Why???
I tryied to run it in window mode but it does not work.
How must I uncompress the file uz????
Same thing happens to my friend Ultimo, ucc.exe file doesen’t work in MS-DOS and not also in window
Can anybody help us again???
Sorry for my bad English I’m from Rome Italy (Rome wonderful place and wonderful girls - yeeaah-)
Thanks a lot boys
Bye bye
KARYSKA

What OS are you running?
I just tried UCC on Windows XP & ME. It works just fine.
This is how I did: from the run window in the start menu i typed cmd (or command for windows me) then changed dir to the unreal system folder for your case the command should be "cd c:\unreal\system" and then run UCC, or UCC help for viewing the command line parameters you should use "ucc decompress <full_path_to_file>\<filename_without_uz_at_the_end>"
If still doesn't work tell me what OS you're runing maybe I'll come with an idea. Good Luck

You have to run ucc.exe from Windows, use "MS-DOS Prompt" in your Programs->Acessories menu (or other submenu in Programs depending on your Windows version). MS-DOS Promt will open MS-DOS window for you, using DOS commands in thios window go to directory with ucc.exe and type:
ucc decompress drive:\pathto\filename.uz
where 'drive' replace by drive letter where is your compressed map and 'pathto' with path to this map. Uncompressed map will be in same folder as ucc is.
ucc cant work with *.* so you have to type all files or make some script or associate .uz files with ucc.exe so they will be decompressed after double-click on them.
