And they're replaying the nbc broadcast from 5 years ago. It's interesting especially if you haven't seen the events unfold in real time before.
Where were you when this happened?

I remember I was in Reno, Nevada. I was on the west coast so it was super early in the morning.
We were staying in a hotel and my friend was watching tv for some reason at 8:30am and wakes me up and says I have to see this.
So I'm groggy and wake up and see the second plane hit the bldgs. And am just thinking wth is going on.
So get up and go downstairs and the whole casino is basically stopped. Every tv has the news on and it's just completely eerie. So we pretty much sat there for a few hrs with everyone in the casino just watching and thinking what is going on........
It was so weird. After a few hours people started gambling again and I remember playing roulette. Then when we left Reno it really hit me what had happened.
The strange thing is I don't remember the next day or what I was thinking after realizing everything. The casino was almost like living in a bubble because you watch the news and see the events but aren't affected into you go back into the real world.

I was in my ex-job in fathers ex-company , helping at store and chatting with store manager. Then we heard in radio that plane crashed into WTC, we thought that was really bad accident, but they said building is only in fire, not collapsing.
But then they said another plane crashed there and also reported other two planes and we knew something is very wrong. I went to home, tuned CNN on cable and started to search for some news on the internet. I remember that both CNN and major czech new sources were overloaded, running some provisory pages only with 9/11 info. After few hours it was clear that worst terrorist attack in human history happend that day in NY.
I also remember, reporters in TV said, you will remember this day, and what you were doing when you heard about it first... they were right.
RIP

I remember I was at work and someone told me a plane had crashed into the first tower, which we thought was a terrible accident, when the second one crashed into the second tower we knew it wasnt an accident, so I started looking around on the net, I remember everything was running very slow wherever I tried to look but I managed to get a few sites up that had info
then when they fell ... we realised the full measure of what had happened
most of that day was spent reading/watching the news.

I was 18 at the time.
I was getting ready to go to the doctors and then onto work. I remember my appointment was for 11.30 and i flicked the tv on ready to go and saw it on the news. I didn't really take in what happened at the time, and just went on to work and so on thinking no more about it.
When I watch the clips now as an adult, or rather more grown up it sends chills down my spine to watch it.
I always wondered how people would remember specific dates from WWI etc and what they were doing. I could never remember the dates. Now living through something like this it is amazing how you remember it.
