Yea this is the worse one in american history. Aparently tho it went down quickly from a force 5 to 1, at least it didnt last a long time as 5.
Also I heard a load of people(about 70,000) went to a superdome for safety, and the room started coming off

"The city of New Orleans is in a state of devastation. We probably have 80 percent of our city underwater. With some sections of our city, the water is as deep as 20 feet."
wow! if it hadnt dropped from a 5 to a 1 the whole place wouldve been leveled

New orleans not only has residents who live there. it is a HUGE tourist haven. Think Mardi Gras.
We are feeling the effects here, it was windy and rainy as heck last night, tree branches knocked down.
On the news New Orleans is a complete disaster area, they predict people will be out of power for over a month. It's crazy.

New orleans is a war zone. I heard last night COPS are leaving. Some news reporters said there were suppose to be cops, national guard, etc... coming in. But they were reporting and said they hadn't seen any law enforcement at all.
People are getting car jacked, robbed, stores looted, etc...
It's like a third world country there right now, and the people stuck have no way of knowing where to go or how to get out. Cell phones don't work. Word is they have been told to go to a certain point in the city and at that point there is suppose to be law and ppl helping (giving out food and stuff). But when ppl walk all the way across the city, some with kids, they get there to find out it is just 1000s of people who have heard the same thing.
