Do anyone have some pointing device from Microsoft (mouse, trackball)? I have big probs with my IntelliMouse Explorer... since I installed new version (ver. 4) of IntelliPoint software my mouse sometimes lockups, red light (optical sensor) is off and only solution is to restart the computer. I tried reconnect mouse to the USB port but computer absolutly ignores it - mouse still dead. Also during usage, mouse sometimes (3-5 in day) lockups for second or two and than starts working again....

this sounds more like a hardware conflict, most notably IRQ. I suggest you turn off USB in your mainboard bios, uninstall the drivers (thoroughly), reboot.
Then shutdown windows, reboot, turn USB on in bios and reinstall drivers.
This is all you can do from the USB side, you can also try this on the side of the other PCI devices, i.e. remove, reboot, uninstall , reinstall.
g'luck

Thanks Puntloos, I will try it (but it is possible to uninstall USB drivers when I have VIA mainboard? (4in1 driver)).
Thanks Cow too, mouse works perfectly on PS/2, but there is other prob - when I turn off computer, optical sensor remains powered so mouse is luminous whole night...

Haha a night light
Anyway well, theoretically yes you can deinstall the USB stuff, go to device manager and delete anything that says USB.
After that reboot and turn off USB in bios, not before!

Thanks Yerf, I will check BIOS, maybe I can find there option for turning off power in USB and PS/2 ports...
Cow: I know, but only way to turn off light on mouse is to remove computer power-plug from wall

Which prob you have? I had two probs with my mouse, lockingup when connected on USB and optic keep flashing after turnoff of computer when connected to PS/2.
USB prob I had in Win98SE and WinME, PS/2 in Win98SE, WinME and WinXP Pro.

Jetweb: yeah in WinXP it is working, but I use XPs only for playing UT and DivX compressing...
