I just finished article about my ISP (UPC) and their new strategy based on commands from their HQ in Nederlands. Well basicaly they will raise 256/96 to 768/128 and 512/128 to 1024/192, but at the same time, they will start with transfer limits (now my connection is unlimited). And now the biggest joke: proposed limits are 5GB for slower connection (mine) and 15GB for faster. Lol yeah I said 5GB. 5000MB. OMG. What a joke. And price? Currently 40 EURO per month. Great isnt it? Damn bastards. Looks like I ll have to switch to another ISP. But which one? In this damn stupid country isnt any usable ADSL (some parody with 3GB or 10GB limits with 1:50 sharing etc.). Wireless connection is crap and has limits too. ...... I m depressed. Now I pray to god and the big Hollanders to change their decision. I dont mind limits if they are usable... 15GB+ is OK. I dont need more. Really. Please. I will buy NL flag and put it in my living room, I promise. And UPC logo will be tatooed on my head! Pleeeease!

uuh.. i know that, ive had that as well.. but only with 2GB.. Surprised

my parents had a bill of 450€ in that month.. cos every MB above the 2gb cost 1,8cent (or something like that..)

pretty crap, hope they wont do that to you.. Confused

that sucks..... well my ISP wouldnt charge me for data over limit, but they will slow down my connection to 64/64 when limit is reached (til next month).... Crying or Very sad

What about @home as ISP? Hope you can get that, I have a 4096/128 connection for 49.95. But I don't know if it's in your region. @home uses a FUP (Fair Use Policy) and even when I downloaded 10 GB a day and uploaded approx 2 GB they didn't complain.

Heh I wish I had this freedom of choice. ATM, when I want Internet, I can get UPC's cable (if I am VERY lucky and live in area covered by UPC) or Czech Telecom's ADSL which sucks and only 30% of cz is covered. And what would I do if I lived in area where isnt either UPC or CzT (most of my country)? Well, than per-minute charged dialup would be my best friend! Razz

A small update: @home gave us the next free upgrade. It's supposed to be active starting Juli 1st but I'm enjoying it already. A connection of 4000/512 Twisted Evil
