ah ok I see what your saying now
I think the app takes the fsb as being 336 and the cpu speed as 2100, so 2100/336 = 6.25 = the multiplier.
What it doesnt know is that its ddr so the fsb is only, as you say, 166.
heh, never noticed that before

ok i see now too
I presume that u have Barton 2800+ with 2083MHz.
Did u try how far goes your processor with overclocking?

yep its a Barton 2800+
I didnt try and overclock it any really, I have with all my others but it makes no difference to UT
My Radeon card doesnt like a high fsb either and my memory is at 166 already. Also cpu runs at 50 degrees already with as3 and a 90mm fan.

I have opposite experiences...
When i overclock proc. FPS in UT raise, also with higher FSB.
When u overclock graphic card, then FPS are not raised in UT.
For UT u need fast processor along with fast system(RAM performance).
U have motherboard with NF2 chipset. That gives u possibilty to overclock your processor with very high FSB, without changing AGP frequency.
U can lock AGP freqvency on default 66MHz and raise your FSB fpr processor very high(over 200)....u can also lower your multiplayer if that makes too much final freqvency for processor.
System with higher FSB are much faster, than system with lower FSB, although they have the same processor speed.
That is because with higher FSB speed, u get better RAM performance. Which is reflected in higher FPS in UT, higher 3DMark score....

Anyone know how to fix perfomance issuses? I just installed it and its really unplayable, 5-10fps, maybe even lower. Changing setting doesnt help a lot... hmmm

I sorted it by formating twice and reinstalling about 5 or 6 times
(I did try different drivers too and also reinstalled directx9b)

And that it worked? Lol oh well, I dont think I want to play it that much to do that all... anyway its much better with -useff switch, dunno what it does tho...

OK I think I solved it, solution was in latest nVidia drivers (really BIG difference in FPS with 4x.xx generation driver and lastest 5x.xx generation) and in Vsync - DISABLE Vsync option (set it to Vsync off), that will give you another 50% fps increase (dunno why tho, probably some bug). With this setup I can play 1024x768 with 35-40 fps without action around me and 15-25 with action around me. 15-25 still isnt best, so I tried to turn off some video options, and it helped a lot (before, with 4x.xx/vsync on, there was no change after disabling video options), but I like everything maxed so I changed resolution to 800x600 and fps is almost always 35+ with all video options at max (again, with 4x.xx/vsync there was no real difference between 800x600 and 1024x768).
Also some useful command-line options:
-useff // do not use any Pixel Shaders, very fast but ugly
-use11 // Pixel Shader 1.1, good for GeForce3 family cards
-use14 // Pixel Shader 1.4, better than 1.1, for Dx8.1 level gfx cards (should be GeForce4? and soem Radeons, dunno exactly))
-use20 // Pixel Shader 2.0, highest quality possible, for Dx9 level cards (GeforceFX, newer Radeons)
-console // enables console, use same key as in UT
-screenshot // enables screenshots, press PrintScreen to get them
-novideo // disables intro videos
CTRL+F12 to see FPS

Vsync is that your FPS are limited to your monitor refreshrate frequency.
I have Vsync enabled, otherwise i have problems in with too high FPS in some areas of maps(150 or more). Too high FPS make some muddines.
Vsync limit your to 85 or 100 FPS(depend on your monitor settings), which is more than enough for playing.
Roba: u have very low FPS...test FPS in UT intro movie with timedemo 1 command and report.

Yeah I know what is Vsync, but in Halo it isnt working, when you enable it, your FPS drops by 50% without any reason... (FPS values are much lower than monitor freq - 85, around 20-30). I think its some bug in Halo, enabled Vsync is killing FPS even if your PFS is much lower than monitor frequency.
Thanks for help Nor@_mamc@ but I have this low FPS problem only with Halo, in UT I have usually 85 FPS...
Anyway I dont care anymore about Halo, there is too few maps and Multiplayer option is REALLY DUMB, no favorites, server list is loading again and again (which means waiting and waiting), when you cant connect it kicks you to main menu, 2 menus away from serverlist... UT rocks
