One friend had low framerate also in HALO (..P4@3.3GHz - Radeon9800PRO - 512 DDR..) and what helped him was :
Application preference Anti-Aliaising...

Dont know if this helps with nVidia-cards... Rolling Eyes

Lee, do you have FAIRLIGHT release? There is also JAGISO, but that is beta.

http://www.nforce.nl/index.php?do=nfo&id=44014

Exact size of FLT-HALO.BIN: 698.77 MB / 732716208 bytes

Anyone know what engine is it using?

HALO FIX

It's due to programs that force the refresh rate to get rid of the 60hz bug in most games.

2 work arounds

1) The best way. alter the shortcut to Halo and add "-vidmode 1024,768,85"

That will set 1024x768 res, and 85hz refrehs rate. Alter the settings as needed for your config

2) Disable the forced refresh rates.

You can also force Pixel Shader 2.0. Add '-use20' to the command line to force it.

Those 2 drives are on IDE 3 & 4, so it sees them as scsi.

Halo plays just fine on my Athlon XP 1800 with Geforce3 ti500.

Finished it. Kinda easy game, but I only played on 'Heroic' level.

Learn to throw grenades ASAP, you will be needing them.

I don't understand this: CPU Type AMD Athlon XP-A, 2100 MHz (6.25 x 336) 2800+ ...it looks strange...

my fsb is supposed to be 333 but I bumped it up a little. 6.25 is the multiplier. 336x6.25 = 2100mhz

could probably get it higher but it runs hot anyway, about 50° so I couldnt be bothered to try and clock it higher.

hmm...
If u having Athlon XP with 333FSB that menas u have 166MHz FSB
So if u having 2100MHz wizh 336(168MHz) FSB, u must have exactly 12.5 multiplayer set.
Multilplyers goes in 0.5 steps...it can't be 6.25
333FSB is realy just 166MHz, but considering DDR double performance it is marked as 333.
