I guess it's true. At some stage everyone will think that they are being chetaed.

When I first started playing UT I was convinced that everyone was cheating. I knew I was good at games like this - but practically everyone was totally kicking my arse.

Anyway. To cut a long story short, it seems everyone else was using something called 'autoaim', the bastards.

Not exactly cheating. But it did piss me off. Evil or Very Mad

wtf does it do offline as well? ppl have complained at me to 'turn off the damn autoaim!!'
well ive never seen the autoaim bit, but I doubt very much Epic would allow it to be used online.

or am I totally missing the point Confused

As we all have seen,cheater are like those stupid,unwanted plants in your garden,if you grip them off they will be back....

Personally I dont see any point off these bots and using them,those take all the pleasure off the game and playing....i keep own server sometimes and try my protection with those sometimes.As soon as i have new pure in there i can read in net that has been hacked already...ofcourse I can use ASH and read all info in there (and put everything in script too.. Wink

) but i am too LAZY to fight this thingy cause there will allways be few coders that will break every cheat protection...right now i am waiting this MD5 that 'would be the ultimate cheat protection'... i give it 3 hours...

Auto Aim is in Input options and is working only in offline games. I dunno what it should do tho, I cant see any effect when I enable it...

btw imho MD5 will be much harder to hack, in fact no one will hack MD5 itself, they only can develop other way how to use bots - external apps based on monitoring UT's gfx output, or hacked dlls?

yeah thats the way it will go i think, external bots at first then hacked dll's.

But it will be a bad time for cheaters and a lot of them will be caught Very Happy

just like when ASH came out it caught a LOT of cheaters, so will MD5

As (master?)camper i fragged him several times, and he only killed me
when he knew where is was hiding.

Some others in the past (think protection works fine now Punt) allmost directly shot me when i killed them,, THATS making me suspicious.

I know allmost all hidden and dark places in most maps,,(sometimes more then the ppl who made the map (lol)).

I think kokkie is even more called a cheater then Nor@, but when you are a realy good fragger as Punt Nor@ (some older Xeon, Sly)and kok you have to live with that.

Even i have been accused of cheating Smile

couse they could not find me LOL.
