Yeah, UT causes that. Please uninstall UT.
Seriously: as far as I know its just generic instability of the UT game. I have heard theories that its your hardware (unstable MB/ram), directx configuration or hairstyle but as far as I know its just UT that sucks now and then.

Hi ipot,
I have that too, especially with Hamster Dance and Our House.
Itīs a D3D Problem, never appears under OpenGL.
But the quality of OpenGL is not sooo good (water/shiny surfaces etc.)
Unreal Engine was designed for 3dfx/Glide, maybe that is a reason
for this protection fault.
Perhaps I should reactivate my Voodoo2 SLI.... :-)

Yes i know it's d3d-problem, not glad that anyone else has that but i'm glad that i'm not alone...( go figure )
Had SLI too - moved 'up' to Voodoo3 and now hunting for Voodoo5 5500,should be reasonable price if i just can find one (or 2 , i know a guy who wants one too..)
